MADAM and Sustainable Agriculture
MADAM works primarily in supporting farmer’s development programs geared towards enhancing food security and livelihoods of vulnerable rural communities. Projects focus on production, processing and marketing of agricultural products to enhance the income of farmers.
We train farmers in a variety of income generating activities, particularly capacity building training, value-addition, and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). Farmers are encouraged to work together in a cooperative, and are connected to financial services.

Currently, there is increasing focus on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), where farmers learn to apply organic farming practices in a sustainable manner and farmers are trained in the management of natural resources.
In the past 10 years, MADAM has worked on developing a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) department, and currently all projects have an M&E officer attached. Work is ongoing to develop a centralised M&E department.
