The alternative education project distributes startup kits to second and final cohort

The alternative education project funded by Feed the Minds – UK distributed startup kits to the second and final cohort of one hundred eighty (180) participants, divided into eighteen (18) groups, on Friday, February 7, 2025. The event was attended by development and planning officers from both the city and district councils, as well as representatives from the National Youth Commission and other stakeholders.

The training focused on two main areas: information and communication technology, and entrepreneurship. The one hundred eighty (180) participants, who had been organized into groups, received startup kits to establish their various businesses.

While handing over the startup kits, the Programs Manager, Mr. Edward Conteh, encouraged all groups to take care of the equipment, emphasizing that such support is not easily obtained. He urged participants to implement the strategies outlined in their business plans.

Conteh also stated that the groups should work toward formalizing their status by registering with the relevant government agencies, which would help them access larger opportunities in the future.

The development and planning officers from both councils urged the groups to use the provided items for their intended purpose and pledged that registration with the councils would be at a reduced rate for them. They further stressed the importance of teamwork, noting that collaboration would support their growth.
