On February 13, 2025, MADAM concluded a two-day project start-up workshop with its consortium partners in Makeni.

The Classroom to Commerce: Empowering Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship project, is a European Union funded project implemented in consortium with Rufutha Development Association (RODA) and Humanist Watch (Huwasal) to which MADAM is the lead partner.

This meeting marked the official beginning of a three-year project funded by the European Union, aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship and enhancing employability skills.

In his statement, the Director of MADAM emphasized the importance of such an intervention, stating that young people are the future. He highlighted that the project aims to contribute to the reduction of youth unemployment in Sierra Leone by fostering entrepreneurship and employability.

He also noted that MADAM’s Entrepreneurship Development Support Services Scheme (EDSSS) has been tested and proven effective, successfully linking young people to financial institutions after they acquire these skills.

The presentations by Mr. Edward Conteh, the programs manager of MADAM, and project manager Abass John Tryee focused on the detailed implementation plan, project outputs, and outcomes, providing further insights about the project.
