MADAM students complete Youth Readiness Intervention
On Thursday March 6, three groups of MADAM students completed the 12-module Youth Readiness Intervention (YRI). Use of the YRI was initiated by MADAM, as the management team was aware that students were struggling with mental health issues. The YRI teaches students the skills to manage issues like stress, anxiety, trauma and emotion regulation, but they also learned skills in goal setting, planning and decision making which will support students as they plan for their future.

Currently two groups of female students and one group of male students have completed the training, and they were supported by MADAM teachers who are trained to deliver the YRI. The hope is that more students get the opportunity to learn these crucial skills and that the YRI will be embedded in the current TVET curriculum.
